Philosophy

Coven isn't in the business of black magic—although, we won't deny the alchemy in our proudest achievements. We're a creative studio with no walls, in every possible way. Don't let our tenacity fool you. We love what we do and have the good sense to know that if we're not having fun, we're doing it wrong.

Rules aren't really our thing (see bending versus following), but values and cultural principals are ideas we stand behind. That said, our guiding philosophy feels more like marketing wisdom wrapped in life advice. It works for us.

*

Stay curious. Ask questions, and listen for answers.

Learn the rules, then bend them. Creative risks get rewarded.

*

Consumers are real people. Treat them as such. Prioritize empathy, success will follow.

*

Less is more. We build tight teams, customized by project. Less bloat, more expertise.

*

Mutual respect is essential. It forges true partnership.

*

One size doesn't fit all. Our approach scales to every client, category and business need.

*

Laugh a little. We don't take ourselves too seriously, you shouldn't either.

*

Embrace the supernatural. The world will make more sense.

At Coven, we're not much for rules (see bending versus following), but values and guiding principals are something we stand behind. Our philosophy feels more like marketing wisdom wrapped in life advice, but it works for us.

The Backstory

Compassion is unconventional.

A wild concept, yet an undeniable truth. Coven began as an experiment, led by two industry veterans who grew tired of excusing bad behavior. Prioritizing culture, putting people first, is easy enough to claim. Yet, maternal attrition, pay gaps, token representation, bureaucracy and toxic energy still persist. In a landscape where burnout is worn as a badge of honor, we challenge the norm. Why do businesses, brimming with creativity and ingenuity, disregard those who possess these talents? Rhetorical, of course.

Coven is the agency we've always dreamed of—one that upholds both the work and our team's well-being to the highest standard. It's not just a vision; it's our commitment to rewriting the narrative for us and anyone else brave enough to listen.
